I was in Virginia at the time, and had no older siblings either. I knew nothing about pop music except folk musics and "This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius". Oh, and Jesus Christ Superstar and Godspell. Sorry. I went to a Cat Stevens concert in college.

Nice. I was an 14-15 year old Air Force brat stuck in Germany when this was all going down. I remember my black friend (whose last name was Whitehead) introducing me to his new Hendrix album. It was a few years before I got to a concert. I sure made up for that!

Sounds like a great experience!

I had a chance to see The Grateful Dead play the Tyrone Guthrie theater in Mpls October 18, 1970. I had been 18 for exactly one week. The Guthrie only held 1300 so there were two shows. I saw the second. Jerry and the boys brought down the house with a 15 minute cover of “Dancing in the Streets.”

The band has two drummers for the show so I thought the flash bang grenade that went off on stage unexpectedly was a bit much. Those darn roadies thought it would be funny apparently.
